How many Texas taxpayer dollars do conservative repubs waste on political war?
Elly:let's go!
Ben:Let's go! In the last couple of years, Texas has transported Over one hundred and two thousand migrants to New York. Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC. Texas has spent over one hundred and forty eight million dollars busing migrants to other parts of the country.
Elly:Even more spent flying them.
Ben:Where does it end? Where does it end?
Elly:I don't know.
Ben:In April of 2022, Texas Republican Governor Greg Anus Abbott announced that his state was going to start transporting to other states migrants Who had been released from federal custody.
Elly:His excuse was he was doing it to prevent the state from shouldering, quote, the burdens imposed by open border advocates in other parts of the country. So, spend billions on an immigration plan that does not work.
Ben:Hey, anus, why not spend the money on your poor? You're tired. You're huddled masses. Yearning to breathe free.
Elly:Yeah, hey, gimme your tired, your poor, your huddled masses. Yearning to breathe free. The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door. Oh, that's right. That's a clip of Emma Lazarus famous sonnet inscribed on the Statue of Liberty in New York City. My bad. So, Anus Abbott, ignoring expanding programs for his constituents, his people, he chose to spend billions on a pet project that would fire up his base. Operation Lone Star. Wow. No politics there. two years later, Texas has transported over 102, 000 migrants to New York, Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Washington, D. C., and who God knows where.
Ben:Blue states and cities. That's where.
Elly:Doofus dipshit DeSantis scrood Florida taxpayers too.
Ben:What a putz. Operation Lone Star is a joint operation between the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Military Department, along the United States Mexico border in southern Texas. Anus Abbott calls it a border security initiative.
Elly:sexy.
Ben:Yeah, I bet he spent some time thinking of that one, 2021 to present The initiative, which also ramped up law enforcement And physical barriers at the border has cost Texas 10 billion more than the operating budgets of some states.
Elly:Hey, anus, don't you have homeless and hungry Americans you can house and feed instead of threatening humans, wildlife and the free flow of water?
Ben:Jackass.
Elly:This was a political tactic. It's that simple. that simple. I know, Anus Abbott, Purulent Paxton, and Florida Dork DeSantis claimed it was just to raise awareness to the rest of the country of what Texans and other border states deal with on a regular basis.
Ben:So they spend this much money to bring awareness?
Elly:Mm, yeah. Makes sense, right? Makes sense, yeah. I'm totally with that man.
Ben:Then why were the people sent to blue cities and states?
Elly:Well, what you got to say about that?
Ben:Everybody knows that most towns cannot financially deal with this surge.
Elly:Damn straight, damn straight you can't. Where the hell their heads at? Up their behinds? This was a political move and you know it. you squawk endlessly about the services Texas is forced to provide immigrants. Immigrants, then why the hell did Anus Abbott challenge the federally funded A. C. A.? F.U. Texas citizens, who needs health care anyway?
Ben:Guttersnipes
Elly:the Federalist Majority Supreme Court even tossed it seven to two. The ACA was challenged three times in the Supreme Court, from what I can remember.
Ben:Yes. Bending over for the religious zealots and the Federalist Society is the M. O. of the conservative justices, but not this time.
Elly:Ooh, Pax. That brings me to another point of contention. A C A good, A C A bad, yay or nay? Millions of Americans without minor children cannot receive any funded health care.
Ben:So they get sick.
Elly:They end up costing the public anyway. They die early.
Ben:Their teeth fall out.
Elly:They rot. They can't get eyeglasses even to read or drive or work their shitty no benefits job. Why doesn't the huge state of Texas Which has at least five major metro cities make laws requiring Walmart, McDonald's, and the many international companies. Why doesn't Texas make them provide free health care to their underpaid employees?
Ben:They eat, don't they? The aid programs will fill in the gaps. Let the taxpayers foot the bill. Ha ha, right. Exactly.
Elly:And more recent chaos from Texas leaders. Gonna love this. Texas authorities have sought to limit Catholic agency services provided to migrants. Yeah. Cut off funding sources and even tried to shut down a decades old ministry and what state officials claim are necessary moves to stem illegal immigration. Like most religious organizations, Catholic charities helps others through private donations from the people that go to church and federal and state funding sometimes like Catholic hospitals Catholic hospitals charitable hospitals do get funding and Don't sit there and quack and cry Because private hospitals owned by private equity these guys get more federal and state funding than Catholic or any other free hospital and they get way more than community hospitals there to serve only the poor.
Ben:Yes.
Elly:So don't get up on your high horse and say, my taxes this attempt to limit services was a F you to Biden move from Texas with love.
Ben:Snipe.
Elly:Oh, I remember Abbott's, Paxton's, and DeSantis's public comments and the hateful visage they projected while speaking about their intentions. The cold, calculating narcissism was undeniable.
Ben:Undeniable. One of us.
Elly:Anus Abbott bussed or flew the immigrants to blue cities without asking if housing and other services are available or notifying them or following agreed upon procedures. Hmm. Hmm.
Ben:Of course not. Let me get this straight. Abbott buses or flies immigrants to blue cities and doesn't even tell them. Give the municipalities a heads up.
Elly:That's right. Like, hey dude, this is Greg. Will Monday at noon work for you? Like what happened in New York Counties. And Anus Abbott lies to immigrants that may have family and jobs in Texas, but are shipped off to, you know, the blue states and cities.
Ben:Hey dude.
Elly:Then
Ben:to make matters worse for residents, New York cuts deals with county leaders regarding immigrants moving into communities without notifying the residents. This has happened in Chicago. Chicago.
Elly:too.
Ben:Other putts underdog governors have followed Texas's lead
Elly:putts. You mean Florida Republican Ronnie the putts dork DeSantis
Ben:yes.
Elly:Uh, by December of 2023, Texas Governor Anus Abbott sent a plane with more than 120 migrants from the U. S. Mexico border to Chicago in an escalation of Republican Abbott's busing operation that has given more than 90, 000 migrants free rides. to Democratic led cities across the country since a couple of years ago. Hell, I'll take a free ticket, Anus? New York City, Long Island, Rhode Island, LA, let's go!
Ben:Let's go!
Elly:Oh yeah. Like I said, without prior notification, tens of thousands of migrants have been bused to Chicago without notifying Chicago or its residents. Many of the immigrants were tricked into going to the cold, windy city with little clothing or shelter in the middle of mucky winter. Yeah.
Ben:Many were shipped to poor areas already strapped for food and shelter for Chicagoans.
Elly:The multi billion dollar operation ticks away. That would be Operation Lone Star. Has also included stringing razor wire along the river between Mexico and the United States.
Ben:Yes
Elly:Installing buoy barriers in the Rio Grande and deploying more officers. Kaching Again, Abbott has bussed more than 90, 000 immigrants Washington, D. C., New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver, and Los Angeles. uh, according to the numbers released by the governor's office in Chicago specifically, more than 28, 000 asylum seekers have arrived since August of 2022.
Ben:What an ass, California. is also flooded with illegal crossings in California and other states. Some people, both Mexican and American, live just across the border and work in the United States.
Elly:Yep. Since his new immigration initiative was in limbo for a while, texas couldn't enforce their law of arresting, imprisoning, and deporting illegals until the appeals court and the Supreme Court ruled on its constitutionality. March 20th, 2024, the Supreme Court gave SB4 the green light. That's, you know, I can arrest you and throw you in jail. That's the SB4, uh, Just when you think the six conservative Federalist Supreme Justices stop grabbing their ankles.
Ethan:I have a few things to add, Justice Sotomayor, took aim at the 5th Circuit court for effectively stalling in sensitive cases and suggested that the conservative appeals court might be seeking“to evade effective review” by the Supreme Court. She pointed out,“The Fifth Circuit recently has developed a troubling habit of leaving administrative stays in place for weeks if not months,”. Many constitutionalists argue that the state law conflicts with the federal government’s immigration policy and violates the Constitution’s supremacy clause, which says that federal laws preempt conflicting state laws. One last thing, Mexican leaders said they would not accept migrants being booted from Texas into Mexico. Just the state of Texas....
Elly:Anus, purulent, and dork get their way, we have a few questions.
Ben:Inquisitive minds want to know.
Elly:How is Texas going to pay for this? A reported per person cost for a bus ride is around 1, 300 and for a flight 2, 700.
Ben:Anus. Were you forthcoming with taxpayers?
Elly:No. Where is the government funding going? Did you use federal COVID funds for the busing? More inquisitive minds want to know.
Ben:If you arrest immigrants, prison populations will increase substantially.
Elly:The prison system can't handle it.
Ben:Law enforcement can't handle the uptick either.
Elly:What about the National Guard? Will this be a permanent assignment for Texas National Guard?
Ben:Who will pay for deportation? It's already costing billions.
Elly:All of us have seen that many of the people illegally and legally crossing the border are not from Mexico, but Venezuela and even China.
Ben:Will not be a cheap ride home for them.
Elly:Another thing, after Anus Abbott's busing and flying, using OPM. Yeah, other people's money. There was a record surge in crossings.
Ben:I guess folks got the word about the Fly For Free program. Ha ha ha.
Elly:I like that, Fly For Free program. Abbott is such a fool. He and Paxton are making Texas look like a backwater state with a bunch of la la land control freaks.
Ben:Texas taxpayers and blue city poor got scrood.
Elly:Giddy up.
Ben:Scrood
Elly:This is Greg. Y'all got scrood. Ka ching. Who's Anus?
